Debate for the Dallas Youth

Good morning campers! Today is the last day of camp and the day of our camp tournament ! We are very excited to see how all of you have progressed over the past week! Makes sure to have fun and stay sharp.

We are officially halfway through the week here at the Debate for the Dallas Youth debate camp! We have seen lots of promising work and efforts from all of attendees! Tomorrow we start practice rounds during the morning so make sure to be ready and bring your game face! We would also like to shout out Kati Johnson for being the Outstanding Lab Leader of the Day! We would like to commend her for her amazing hard work and dedication to the camp and especially today, thank you Kati! We will continue to post pictures throughout tomorrow as the rounds continue, thank you for your help and dedication everyone (:

In about two weeks, the debate community raised $305 to sponsor this project -- I am beyond speechless. Now, we have more than enough funding to carry through with this project and give kids the best education we can give.

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone that has liked, shared, and/or donated to this project.

Welcome to the Debate for the Dallas Youth page!

We are holding a debate camp from August 13 to August 17 from 8:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M at the First Baptist Church of Garland. It's open to all incoming 6th graders to incoming freshmen FREE OF CHARGE!

This camp will cover the fundamentals of public speaking and debating, as well as Lincoln-Douglas debate for those wishing to compete at the high school level.

Personnel will include prominent high school Lincoln-Douglas debaters from the Dallas area Khoa Pham (Garland HS), Brandon Molina (Garland HS), Collins Morgan (Lovejoy HS) and many more to come which means that there will be a large amount of individualized attention.

There will always be an adult on-site in case of any emergencies, but the unique part about this camp is that us high schoolers will be directing the curriculum according to current trends in debate!
