Sudie ends the school year with GREAT test scores!

The STAAR test results for 5th graders were posted recently and the Sudie Lions were roaring! 96.6% of the kids passed in math and 86.2% in reading. These scores represent a 15% and 6% improvement, respectively. Over half the kids achieved "mastery" level (meaning they are on track for college preparedness) in both math and reading. This puts Sudie in #6 for math and #4 for reading across all of DISDs elementary schools.

A big thanks goes to Principal Jackson, Counselor Perez and all the teachers and staff at the school for their hard work all year long.

Best of luck Sudie graduates as you go forward in your education career. We couldn't be prouder of you !

For anyone who didn't know, the DISD Board at their January meeting voted to go forward with the Sudie-Polk merger effective this August.

Current Sudie kids will attend JB Polk Elementary. Sudie Williams will become a grade 4-8 Vanguard/ Talented and Gifted School.

Applications for Sudie' s initial 4th, 5th and 6th grades will be open until Feb 28th.

Selection of a principal for Sudie is expected to conclude by the end of February.

Volunteers Needed in North Texas Volunteer and move a student off the waitlist.
