Lone Star #10: Maudie has autism. She spends each summer with her dad. A tragic wildfire forces them to relocate for the summer. Maudie doesn't care for change, but their time in a trailer by the ocean completely changes her. She is hiding a deep secret and has to decide when and if it is ever okay to break a promise. Lone Star #9: Wesley is very proud of the poem she wrote for Indigenous People Day and is excited to see it published in her school newspaper. However, a negative reaction from a teacher leaves her questioning everything. She is proud of her heritage, but she isn't sure she is enough.
