The reality is sometimes people think you’re just asking if they’re okay because it’s polite and not because you truly care… and sometimes it’s because they don’t want to burden you. Push them. Go beyond that. Let the person you’re talking to know that you truly care, and that you’re available when they need a friend, when they want to cry., and even when they’re laughing. Check on your friends/family even if they’re smiling because sometimes we don’t say how we really feel. And please try to start expressing how you feel. Be open, be honest … because it’s the only way someone can truly help you. You don’t have to do it alone. Say what you feel!
