If you are a concealed carry licensed citizen, there are a few things to consider in a traffic stop situation. Sometimes a traffic violation stop can escalate without a proper plan of action. Knowing what to do can keep the situation safe for you and the officer making the stop.
Traffic Stops: What CCW Citizens Need to Know It has been said that an armed society is a polite society. And nowhere is that more important than when dealing with law enforcement.

911 dispatchers are currently classified simply as clerical workers. However, these men and women are the very first to respond to an emergency so why shouldn't they be classified as first responders? They are emotionally exposed to the same trauma first responders are exposed to, yet they do not have the same benefits when it comes to training and resources. A new bill by a California congresswoman would reclassify dispatchers as first responders as well as addressing the understaffed issue which also creates excessive overtime. Not only do these men and women have limited resources, but they are also having to overwork themselves in order to be available for emergencies. We all want and deserve the best qualified person to answer a distress call. Dispatchers are doing live-saving work and should be recognized and compensated as such.
Bill would reclassify 911 dispatcher jobs as first responders WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — 911 dispatchers experience some of the same trauma as first responders, but many of them don’t have the same access to trauma resources or training. Margie Gemende and Kristi…

"Homeless task force"
In Florida, law enforcement is taking an initiative to change how they interact with homeless people. They county of Brevard is finding ways to help they homeless rather than being arrested on site. This is a community effort with non-profits, churches, colleges, etc. The law enforcement agencies cannot do it alone. This is a great effort and a fantastic way of dealing with the homelessness embedded in our country. Hopefully this can be an initiative everyone can get behind to better our country.
Brevard law enforcement is changing how it deals with homelessness thanks to task force Brevard law enforcement agencies play a critical role in a countywide effort to best share resources and tackle issues related to homelessness.

"I'm Good"
A code of silence that needs to be broken. Sometimes we don't think about the correctional officers but they are also part of our law enforcement. These officers endure and encounter as much danger as a police officer. Su***de is the number one killer of law enforcement and unfortunately there is not a lot of advocacy for this topic so we need to bring awareness to the metal health and stability of these men and woman who are risking their life for us. We should not expect for these correctional officers to hide their emotional distress. We should be encouraging them to share their troubles and make them feel safe to talk to someone like they make us feel safe in our daily lives.
Breaking the “I’m good” code of silence Many correctional officers still experience peer and organizational pressure to cover up personal distress and emotional turmoil
Rural Areas Are In Need Of Police Officers.
There is a major shortage of law enforcement officers in rural areas of the country making these parts of the country very unsafe. The few officers that are in these areas are being stretched thin and unfortunately lack the resources and funding for crucial training as well as the equipment needed. Equipment that is vital for the protection of not only the officers but the citizens as well. Some of the people in these areas have to wait hours for assistance. Lets spread the word and create awareness for these areas that are part of this nation so no one is left behind.

Domestic Violence Calls Are Dangerous To Responding Officers
Millions of people are victims of domestic violence and law enforcement officers are first to respond. Due to the emotional state of these situations, these are the most dangerous calls for police officers. In most cases, there is missing information about the situation which creates a very dangerous situation for the officer or officers responding despite of their training. This doesn't provide a clear perspective of the situation making the officer unprepared and vulnerable to unforeseen attacks. Several counties and departments are creating new training or are creating ways to help the officers be better prepared before going into a dangerous situation. this will help save not only the lives of police officers but also the victims.

Who hasn't accidentally dialed 911?
The numbers of accidental calls have been on the rise, especially with smartphones having a feature to make this easier. These accidental calls can be problematic to the dispatcher. Most people will typically hangup after accidentally making the call however, that is the wrong thing to do. The dispatcher has no way of knowing this was a mistake and will have to take time and the use of resources to call the number back to ensure that everything is okay. In some cases a police officer is even sent out, which takes now also takes an officer away from a true emergency. This also potentially takes time away from the dispatcher to answer and help someone who is trying to call in a real emergency. The correct thing to do in a situation where a call is made accidentally, is to stay on the line and speak with the dispatcher and explain the accident.
Accidental 911 calls create problems for local dispatchers and first responders WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WLUK) -- A jump in accidental 911 calls has several local sheriff's offices reminding folks to be more careful. "I would say that we take at least anywhere from 20-50 a day," said Kyle Nachman. Nachman is a 911 dispatcher at the Winnebago County Communication Center, where staff re...

We hope everyone has been having a great start to this year. It is very unfortunate that we already have 6 fallen officers in just 2 weeks into the year. Last year, we had a total of 134 fallen officers for the year. This number is too high, please consider the Badge Of Honor Memorial Foundation this year. Your donations help us provide police departments with the proper training for a line-of-duty death as well as providing help to the families left behind. Some of these families are unaware of the benefits they maybe entitled to or fail to go through the extensive process, we at the Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation help ease that process for them and ensure they receive any and all benefits they maybe entitled to.
Thank you for your support.
