WHEN WE ARE DISCIPLES
"Go, you therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
The code of conduct for Christ followers is a mirror in which each one of us can see ourselves. It is a gauge by which to measure ourselves and the will of our hearts. No one can understand themselves until they place their weakness up against the clear character and compassion of Christ. We are to live as He lived, talk as He talked, forgive as He forgave, and love as He loved. When we fix our eyes on Him and follow His example for living, humility subdues pride, kindness outlaws injustice, selfishness is conquered by lovingkindness and service. We learn through His beautiful example in gracious living that the way of holiness is the way of peace; the way of true greatness is the way of self-denial; the way of love is the only acceptable law of life. May we live by His example, "speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head---Christ"
(Ephesians 4:15)
Father, help us to teach by our lives those things which You have taught us to observe.
