Still a little tough being limited to only teaching on the weekends and having a less-than-100% strong-arm draw but I'm getting by.
We've began scheduling private classes and upping the training time as well as being invited to speak at public events. Anything to get the 2nd Amendment word out to anyone and everyone who wishes to take a stand.
So...when you're ready, we're ready!

First class of the year and I am anxious for more!
Even if I wasn't able to shoot along with everyone, being able to instruct is such an honor. Rehabbing the shoulder and only teaching on the weekends is the new norm for the foreseeable future but I will be ready to teach when you're ready to learn!!

On a more personal note: recovery and physical therapy is coming along slowly but surely. Shoulder surgery stinks but I'm hoping to get back to drawing and shooting once I'm back to 100%. Or close to 100%!

Sentinels we appreciate everyone's patience while recovering from surgery. As soon as I can get back to the range I will be on both sides of the classroom teaching myself to draw and shoot better with my weak hand. Like we tell everyone: never stop learning. Time to put my money where my mouth is!!

Much has been going on since we've last posted. Some good, some interesting but we're still kicking. Unfortunately, classes for October and November have to take a back seat to recovery time needed to rehab a shoulder after a much needed rotator cuff repair. As soon as we can resume classes, we will.
On a more personal note, looks like I will have to teach myself how to draw my carry gun with my left hand! At least I'll be more versatile after this is all said and done.

Tomorrow begins a huge step in Texas' ability to keep its citizens safe. Permitless Carry.
Don't let the naysayers get you down like they did in 1995 or 2016 with the introduction of CHL and open carry! Permitless Carry is not going to turn Texas into Chicago or the wild wild west. What is illegal today will still be illegal tomorrow. Now, you will have the option of getting your LTC, which gives you more leeway to carry, or not.
The educational necessity is still and will always be there. Know what the law says. Know where you can and cannot carry. And above all train! Train with a purpose. License or no, if you don't know how and when to use your gun, make no mistake, you are a liability.
There are plenty of folks around the country, and in Texas, who are watching us to make sure we fail. Let's not give them an ounce of ammo to use against us!!

Qualified to keep teaching for the next 2 years. Dropped 2 shots out of the 9-ring: one shot with each gun at the 15 yard line.

On a separate positive note...aunts and uncle see that I do have a serious side! Haha!!

Just got back from Austin where I renewed my LTC Instructor certification. Wasn't bad except when the DPS guy opened up the floor for questions and stories! Mistake, DPS guy. Mistake.
