The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) recently announced the recipients of the 2025-2026 Student Leadership Awards. The award recipient from Grand Prairie ISD is Dwight D Eisenhower Elementary! This prestigious award celebrates PK-8 student leadership teams that have made an extraordinary impact on their school communities through their dedicated leadership and service.
These inspiring young leaders have taken part in a variety of dynamic initiatives, such as:

Grand Prairie ISD hosted its annual Artist in Bloom Art Show last Thursday evening, featuring artists in grades pre-K to 12. Each selected piece of art to be showcased in the Artist in Bloom show was selected by teachers at each campus and then judged by an outside artist. Today, Truman Middle School hosted the inaugural Esports tournament in Grand Prairie ISD. Students from elementary, middle school, and high school brought their gaming skills and were ready to compete. The games were intense and competitive, and the participants showed great sportsmanship, giving their all. In the end, the Esports champions were crowned! GPISD congratulates all Esports competitors.

From GPISD roots to a FULL-RIDE at UNT, Grand Prairie High School (GPHSGophers) senior Mike Boone is taking his talents to the next level!
Mike will attend the University of North Texas on a full academic scholarship, majoring in Computer Engineering as he explores future career paths in the field.
A true GPISD product—Garner Elementary ➡️ Reagan Middle School ➡️ Grand Prairie High School—Mike represents what it means to grow and succeed right here at home.
🏀 On the court, Mike has been a force on the Gopher Boys Basketball team:
• First Team All-District
• District Defensive Player of the Year

“At Sam Rayburn Elementary STEAM Academy, students are engaged in their learning through advanced integration of technology,” says Mrs. Schmitter, principal at Rayburn. Every classroom is equipped with interactive boards to enhance student engagement. Their resources include 3D printers, drones, Spheros, robots, and an Obie projector, designed specifically for PreK-5 students, which provide dynamic learning experiences.
