Big Kahuna Update: We’re off to a great start! 🚀

Wedgeworth families, we’ve already raised $4,411 toward our $35,000 goal! That’s 13% of our overall goal!! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who has registered, shared, and started fundraising!

Haven’t set up your child’s fundraising page yet? It takes less than 2 minutes! Check your child’s folder or head straight to the Big Kahuna website. Once it’s set up, you can easily share their link with friends and family near and far. Even a few shares can make a BIG difference.

Why does a successful Big Kahuna fundraiser matter?
The money we raise helps PTO fund the things that make the school year extra special for our students and staff — including field trips, Rock Rallies, Teacher Appreciation, student activities, special events, and more.

A strong fundraiser this fall also means less fundraising we need to ask of our families later in the year — something we think everyone can get behind! 🙌

We have 25 days to go, and we’d love to see how close we can get to that $35,000 goal together!

If you haven’t registered yet, today is a great day to take those two minutes, create your child’s page, and send out that first share! 🥳

Thank you for helping us make this a wonderful year for our Wedgeworth students💚🖤!

🚀 BIG KAHUNA KICKS OFF TOMORROW! 🚀

Wedgeworth families, get ready! Our Big Kahuna fundraiser officially launches tomorrow, September 24th!! Students will attend a kickoff assembly and come home with everything you need to get started.

Getting started is easy:

1️⃣ Look for the Big Kahuna packet coming home with your student tomorrow.
2️⃣ Follow the instructions inside to register your student online with a parent or guardian.
3️⃣ Once registered, share your student’s fundraising link with family and friends near and far!
4️⃣ As students make sales, they can begin earning prizes—including the Space Monster Collectibles and the Limo Ride they’ll hear all about at the kickoff! 👽🚀

📅 A couple dates to know:
Fundraiser ends: October 15
Product pickup: December 1
We’ll send plenty of reminders as these dates get closer!

💚🖤Why do we fundraise?

Fundraisers like Big Kahuna allow our PTO to say YES throughout the year—to field trips, Rock Rallies, teacher appreciation, student activities, and so many of the extras that make Wedgeworth special.

A successful fall fundraiser also means we can fund these things without continually coming back to families with additional large fundraisers throughout the year. Every order really does add up!

There’s no expectation that every family sell a certain amount. Every share, every order, and every bit of participation helps our school.

📬 Tomorrow: check those backpacks, register, and you’re ready for takeoff!!

Thursday was a busy one at Wedgeworth! With teachers having only a short window between dismissal and welcoming students and families back for Open House, we knew we needed to make teacher appreciation quick, easy, and FUN!

So our PTO members transformed into our very own Chick-fil-A drive-thru crew! ❤️ We had the red shirts, “official” name tags, tablets, headsets and, of course, plenty of smiles!

We are so thankful to BJ's Wholesale Club Waxahachie for donating the sodas and chips for our teachers (plus a few extra goodies we’ll be putting to good use at future events!). 🥤

And a shoutout to Chick-fil-A Waxahachie North for partnering with us, providing a generous discount, and sending out a very special guest… THE COW!

We hope our teachers felt just how loved and appreciated they are! They work so hard for our Wedgeworth students, and we were so happy to give them a little something during such a busy day.

Check out a few pictures from all the fun we had Thursday!

And hey… if this looks like fun, come join us!

Whether you join the PTO, volunteer at an event, donate, or help with fundraising, there’s a place for YOU! Our first PTO meeting is tomorrow, Monday, September 21st at 4:30pm.

It truly takes a village, and we’re so thankful for ours!
