Humble Brag Humpday? Is that a thing? Today it is!!

To Whom It May Concern,
I categorize my daughter’s infancy by life BEFORE Rebecca and life AFTER Rebecca. You see, we didn’t learn there was someone like Rebecca out there to teach us until she was almost 2 months old. I was struggling with severe Post-Partum Anxiety and Depression, my mother was living with us full-time to help, my husband had just gone back to work. It was time to transition my mother from being with us full-time and I was so anxious. I reached out some friends in an online mommy group for help and one of them recommended I call Rebecca. I was only looking for someone to keep our daughter alive at night while my husband and I got sleep. I could not allow myself to dream of anything beyond that.
When Rebecca started with us, our daughter was sleeping an hour or two at a time and we were beyond exhausted. My husband and I had read so many conflicting books, articles, and blogs on “how to get your baby to sleep” and nothing seemed to work. Rebecca came in and consulted with us. She let us know that we were already doing an amazing job. She shared all the positive behaviors she saw in our daughter and in us as parents. We really needed this uplift! She also shared from her vast experience some slight adjustments, and WHY she has seen them work. This was key for us. Understanding why certain things work over others really helped us adapt our behavior and ultimately helped our daughter learn to self-soothe and sleep longer and longer.
Undoubtedly the biggest impact Rebecca made on us and our daughter’s development was the urging that our daughter likely had a tongue tie. We had her checked in the hospital before we left and were told she was fine. We had the pediatrician check at her 1-month appointment and were told she was fine. After Rebecca’s initial concern we even took our daughter to an ENT and were told she was fine. However, with the continued feeding challenges our daughter had, Rebecca continued to gently urging us to seek out a pediatric feeding specialist because our daughter’s behavior was not normal and she strongly felt there was something all three of these professionals missed.
We sought out a pediatric feeding specialist and that person indeed found our daughter had a unique type of both tongue and lip tie that was preventing her from closing properly to create suction on the bottle. This allowed her to swallow large amounts of air and created tummy and gas issues for her around the clock. Once we had the tongue and lip tie procedure our daughter was a different baby! She was no longer in pain and her milk intake shot up. She continues to be so happy and now loves her bottle.
Once she was eating better, Rebecca was able to help her start sleeping longer and longer until she was sleeping through the night! We were so sad when it was time for Rebecca to move on to her next family. Our only regret in hiring Rebecca is that we didn’t find her sooner in our daughter’s life.

Sincerely,
M Family Texas
