The McKinney High PTO will host a general meeting on Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the MHS Cafeteria.

The meeting will feature speakers from:

McKinney Education Foundation
Project Graduation

Special guests will include Superintendent Shawn Pratt and Deputy Superintendent of School Leadership Melanie Raleeh.

They will provide information and answer questions about the upcoming McKinney ISD Bond and Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election scheduled for November 3, 2026. Early voting is scheduled for October 19–30.

All members of the MHS community are welcome to attend.

We are beyond proud to announce that the 2025–2026 McKinney High School Wind Ensemble has been named a National Winner in the 2026 Mark of Excellence / National Wind Band Honors project by The Foundation for Music Education!

Out of 525 entries from 40 states, our musicians were selected by top national judges for exceptional performance and recording quality.

This is only the second time in MHS history (and the first since 2019) that our Wind Ensemble has earned this national title.

Congratulations to all of our dedicated student musicians and directors!

Huge congratulations to the MHS Symphony Orchestra!

At last night’s MISD school board meeting, our talented musicians were recognized for an incredible achievement: placing 5th in the state in the 2026 TMEA Honor Orchestra competition! This marks the very first time MHS has advanced to the state finals.

A joint venture between the MHS orchestra and band programs, this ensemble brings together the top 90 instrumental musicians at MHS. We are so proud of these students and directors for their dedication, hard work, and historic accomplishment!
