If each day is a gift, then one must approach it with an open heart and an open mind. Life certainly required flexibility when Margaret’s intention to spend a few years as a flight attendant turned into a thirty nine year career. Raising four wonderful, amazing children took center stage for quite some time. This required her to put her desire to make a real impact in the world through service on hold for a period of time. Margaret has spent the past years answering the call to support organizations like Be the Match and a variety of other non profits. Life is Full of Surprises
But the experience held a surprising gem. After numerous trips to China, Margaret found she enjoyed creating jewelry for friends back home. She had always considered a second career as a florist, so designing jewelry felt natural. Her talent piqued the interest of a friend who helped fundraise for the American Cancer Society. This friend asked Margaret to create a couple pieces for an upcoming event. Quite unexpectedly, a new life-passion was born. Starting the Conversation
Margaret started The Cancer Pearls Collection™ to create beautiful, conversation-starting jewelry that would help in the fight against cancer through education and fundraising. Her bold, luminescent pearls represent each color of cancer. Her challenge to those who wear her pieces: Start a conversation about cancer with as many people as possible. Talk about friends, family and coworkers who have faced or are facing cancer. Talk about the lesser-known types of cancer and their symptoms. He could not have said it any better. It is such an honor to work with incredible organizations such as SRS Raise the Roof Foundation who give so much to our community. We had perfect weather Monday for a golf tournament, raised thousands with Margaret Palmer jewelry, and ended the evening with a private Pat Green concert! All in the name of charity.
