Have you heard about The Boring Company? They were here at the UTDallas this Spring 2026.

The Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science Professional Success Center hosted an exclusive networking and info session with Patrick Dyer, giving students a closer look at how they’re redefining transportation through innovative tunnel engineering.

From career opportunities in Austin to insights on their fast-paced, hands-on work culture, this session gave students a direct connection to one of the most forward-thinking engineering companies today.

On February 27, our office organized a student field trip to Intertek to provide students with meaningful exposure to a professional industry and environment. The visit offered an opportunity for students to observe real world operations, learn about industry standards, and give valuable insights into the work, carried out by professional in the field.

Experiences like display an important role in bringing the gap between academic learning and practical application. By engaging directly with industry professionals, students were able to better understand workplace expectations, explore potential career parts, and see how concepts learned in the classroom are applied in real world settings.

We essentially appreciate the team at Intertek for welcoming our student and sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise. Opportunities such as this help foster professional growth and reinforce our continued commitment to supporting student learning through industry engagement and engagement and experience opportunities.
