Did you know it can take students 6-8 weeks to truly settle into a classroom at the start of a new year? In Montessori, we call this the process of normalization. The classic "busy hum" of a work period, where children have the confidence to independently choose work and collaborate well with others, takes time to grow into. During this acclimation period, our educators go the extra mile to offer love, care, and clear guidance. Once children feel settled, confidence soars and the space becomes more than a class; it functions as a community. 🦋🌼🥰

Young children don’t only benefit from open-ended work; closed-ended activities are also packed with developmental benefits and opportunities to build essential brain skills! In early education, and here in our classrooms, self-correcting work strengthens independence, concentration, problem-solving, confidence, and frustration tolerance.

Our mid-summer sale has become a much-loved annual tradition at N4MA! This year's pop-up business, designed by children and run by children, raised an incredible $400, thanks to the generous support of our parent community.

From choosing unique recipes and developing food preparation skills, to creating marketing signs, practicing money management, and confidently running the sale, every step of the process builds creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills that will stay with them for life. Thank you to everyone who supported their hard work and helped make this year's sale such a success! 🫶
