The U.S. travel and tourism industry provided $7.8 million jobs in 2017 and accounted for over $1.6 trillion in economic output in 2017.

The industry represented 11% of all US exports and a third of all US services exports. US travel and tourism accounted for 2.8% of GDP.

The US government needs to provide additional financial bailout to save the travel and tourism industry.
