Dear Anne Frank Elementary Scribes,
As the hallways grow quiet and the sun begins to signal the start of summer, we find ourselves reflecting on a truly remarkable school year. Just as our school’s namesake taught us the power of hope and the beauty of a resilient spirit, our students have spent the last ten months showing us exactly what it means to grow, to learn, and to "be kind and have courage."
Celebrating Our Successes
This year was filled with milestones that would have made any community proud. Culture trunks, literacy night, STEAM night, and various campus activities, your children have pushed boundaries and supported one another with empathy.
We saw firsthand that even small actions—a shared book, a helping hand on the playground, or a thoughtful question in class—contribute to the "noble character" Anne Frank wrote about.
Looking Ahead: 2026-2027
While summer is a time for rest and exploration, we are already buzzing with excitement for the upcoming school year. Here is a brief look at what’s on the horizon:
Campus Upgrades: Look forward to a secure vestibule that will ensure campus safety
Key Dates:
Meet the Teacher Night: Thursday, August 6, 2026
First Day of School: Monday, August 11, 2026
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." — Anne Frank
A Heartfelt Thank You
To our parents and guardians: thank you. Your partnership is the heartbeat of this school. Whether you volunteered for a field trip, helped with homework, or simply cheered from the sidelines, you made this year a success.
We wish you a summer filled with laughter, safety, and perhaps a few good books. We can’t wait to see those smiling faces back in our halls this August.
With gratitude,
The Faculty and Administration Anne Frank Elementary School
— Ana Frank
Un Agradecimiento Sincero
A nuestros padres y tutores: gracias.

Dear Anne Frank Elementary Family,
It is with both pride and bittersweet emotions that we share that Mr. Mercado will be leaving Anne Frank Elementary to begin an exciting new journey as the new principal of Casa View Elementary.
Mr. Mercado’s story is deeply rooted in Anne Frank Elementary. He grew here as a teacher, then as an assistant principal, and now we proudly launch him into this new leadership role as a principal. Throughout every step of his journey, he has been an amazing person, leader, mentor, and friend to our entire school community.
Every day Mr. Mercado gave to Anne Frank Elementary allowed all of us to grow, learn, and become stronger together. His dedication, kindness, leadership, and unwavering belief in our students and staff have left a lasting impact on our school family.
As he begins this new chapter, we want him to know that Anne Frank Elementary will always be his home. While he now takes his leadership to Casa View Elementary, we know he will teach his new team how to be a family just as he did here — extending the love, support, and unity that make a school community truly special.
Mr. Mercado has always reminded us that “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra,” and he has lived those words every single day through his commitment, heart, and service to others.
Thank you, Mr. Mercado, for an amazing time together. We are grateful for everything you have done for Anne Frank Elementary, and we wish you nothing but success, happiness, and blessings in this next journey.
Once an Anne Frank family member, always an Anne Frank family member.
With gratitude and best wishes,
The Anne Frank Elementary Family
