Wow, what a day! Today was 💥 Field Day 💥, and it was an absolute, roaring success! 🎉

From a massive water slide and awesome inflatables to a ton of fun activities, our school was absolutely buzzing with energy. The best part? Seeing some of our brave teachers get dunked in the dunk tank! 💦🎯 There is truly nothing better than seeing those huge, smiling faces and kids completely full of excitement.

This incredible day wouldn't have been possible without some very special people:

Today we want to take a moment to celebrate two very special people at Spring Creek—our Assistant Principals, Mr. Escobedo and Mrs. Derden. 💙🎉

The care they show for our students, staff, and families does not go unnoticed. They take the time to build real relationships, and that makes such a difference in the way we all come together to support our kids.

Thank you for your kindness, your dedication, and the heart you bring to The Creek every single day ❤️. Our Scorpions are better because of you, and we are so grateful you’re here!

𝗪𝗼𝘄—𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗸! 💙

Our 2nd graders had an egg-citing academic egg hunt 🐣🥚—thank you to all the parents who donated and volunteered to make it such a special event!

As a school community, we came together for an energetic Pep Rally 🎉 to cheer on our students in grades 3–5. A big shoutout to the Webb Middle School band 🥁🎺 for helping us bring the noise and school spirit! Our teachers shared powerful words of encouragement, reminding our students that we believe in each and every one of them. We know they’re ready to shine on their STAAR assessment and show how much they’ve learned! ✨📚

And yes… Kona Ice rolled in! 🍧😄 Our students enjoyed a sweet treat and big smiles all around.

We’re also proud to celebrate our March Employees of the Month: Ms. Christina Fain and Coach Anthony Bell 👏🏽🎉 Thank you both for going above and beyond for our Scorpions every single day!

Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you to Officer Carter ⚾🍽️ for treating our staff to a wonderful baseball season opening lunch. Your kindness means so much to our team!

The Creek is strong because of our amazing students, staff, and families. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💪

☀️ Spring Break is Here! ☀️

As we head into Spring Break, I want to celebrate the wonderful Multicultural Night we had at The Creek. Our community’s diversity truly shined as families, students, and staff came together to celebrate cultures from around the world.

The evening featured Folklórico dancing, an energetic Step Team, and performances by our talented 2nd and 3rd grade students. We also enjoyed a special Filipino group that shared traditional dances with our families. Cultural tables hosted by families, student artwork displayed throughout the school, and hands-on activities like piñata making, puzzle crafts, and henna made the night even more memorable.

Thank you to all the families and staff who helped make this such a joyful celebration for our community!

𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 16 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 20. We hope this week gives our students and families an opportunity to rest and enjoy time together. Our students have been working incredibly hard, and a little downtime can do wonders for their energy and focus.

If your child would like to keep practicing during the break, they can log into iReady for Math or Reading, visit the library to find a good book, or spend a few minutes reviewing math facts like addition, multiplication, and division. Even a little practice helps keep their skills sharp.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Hendricks for planning 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 today. Our students had the opportunity to hear presentations and interact with professionals from different careers, making it a meaningful and engaging experience.

Most importantly, we hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing, and joyful Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready to finish the school year strong.

Dear Spring Creek Community,

Thank you for trusting us to educate and care for your children. This week, our K-2 students began their geometry unit, exploring shapes in the world around them. You can support their learning by asking questions like:

🔶 What shapes do you see around you?
🔷 Can you find something with four sides?
🔶 How many corners does this object have?
🔷 Can you combine shapes to make a new one?

For grades 3-5, we encourage families to review multiplication facts at home to strengthen math skills and build confidence.

We also celebrated two incredible staff members this week: Mrs. Wheeler, our Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Moss, our Para-Professional of the Year.

Additionally, we recognized six GISD students in second and third grade who scored in the 98th percentile in math on i-Ready and were nominated for the National Math Stars program. Each year, the nation’s top second and third graders are nominated to apply for this free program.

Thanks to your generosity and continued support, the PTA was able to grant over $1,800 in wish list items requested by our staff and teachers!
