Online tutoring has been so much fun!

Teaching strategies in order to solve word problems allows students to slow down, think about the question, solve and check their work. Try it with your child when working on math word problems!

The first thing I like to do is understand on what grade level students comprehend on before I jump into anything else. Comprehension is key to all subjects and will strengthen students to improve in their other subjects

Learning and teaching comprehension starts in an early stage. It takes Time and dedication and an hour a week of help is not enough. A lot of people think if the kid reads then he/she comprehend but sadly that is not the case. Make reading comprehension fun at home by reading to your child at a young age and ask them questions about what they read, by having s’mores time, or acting out the story.

Teaching students phonics builds on their spelling. When students are able to stop and think about the letters in words they will improve in their writing. Try this at home with ur kids. Ask them to identify if the vowels have long or short sounds

Writing can be overwhelming. Helping kids with writing folder with all the information they need will help them improve.

When teaching beginner writing it’s always helpful to use picture stories to help students develop a story.

I love using graph paper for math. Students get organized and see their work better! Always use graph paper for your elementary child!
