Hosts and PTSI Resilience Trainers John Salerno and Samantha Horwitz talk with Ofc. Samantha Cabrera on Badge of Honor TV.

Sam Cabrera is a Lieutenant with the NYPD and an advocate for mental wellness after the tragic murders of two of her officers. Her story and specific therapy protocols are documented in the book. Dump the Bucket by Dr. Stacy Raymond.

The inspiration for LifeVac began when Arthur Lih, inventor and CEO, heard a heartbreaking story of a woman in a hospital, mourning the loss of her young son. A grape had become lodged in his windpipe, and despite attempts to save him using standard protocols, they ultimately failed. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, Arthur created LifeVac. On November 8, 2022, tragedy struck the Mandrell family with the death of their son Westyn Bryan Mandrell, 18 months old. Westyn, choked on a sliver of fruit. Never did they realize that choking of an infant is the 4th leading cause of death in children nor did they realize that it can possibly be avoided with the use of an anti-choking device like LifeVac. The mission of the Westyn Mandrell Foundation is to bring awareness about an anti-choking device and how it has saved the lives of so many adults and children.
