Abstract Submission Guidelines for the publication of oral and e-poster presentation • • • • •

Provide full affiliation (name, surname, title, institution, city, country, and contact details of the submitting author). Include the full academic title in the affiliation. Affiliation should also include the name and surname of the head of the teaching institution. The presenting author shall be underlined in the abstract. Presentation types: the Congress offers two types of abstract submissions: Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation (Clinical or Scientific report): a) Oral Presentation: Oral presentations provide an opportunity to report on original research (in vitro, preclinical, and clinical human studies). The oral presentation should be divided into the following parts: Title, Aim, Material and Methods, Results, and Conclusion. b) Poster Presentation: e-poster presentations provide an opportunity to report original research (preclinical and clinical), a case report (divided into Title, Aim, Case description, Discussion, and Conclusion), and a systematic or narrative review (Title, Aim, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusion). When submitting an abstract in English, 350 words or less, for the main scientific program, you can offer to present an oral presentation OR an e-poster. The deadline for abstract submission is October 10th, 2024. After submitting the presentation, each work will receive a number to be placed on the display. The Poster presentation should not be printed (there will be a screen to present the e-poster). The detailed requirement for the poster dimension will be sent to the authors after the acceptance of the presentation by the Scientific Committee. The presentation time should be at most 10 minutes. Oral presentations should be prepared in ENGLISH LANGUAGE using PowerPoint or Keynote. The presentation could be in English or Portuguese. Please add this information to the abstract during the submission. The detailed requirements for the Oral presentation will be sent to the authors after the presentation is accepted by the scientific committee. The presentation time should be at most 10 minutes + 3 minutes for Q&A. The Scientific Committee will select the best presentations awarded during the Congress. All accepted abstracts will be published in Photobiomodul Photomed Laser Surg. (https://home.liebertpub.com/publications/photobiomodulationphotomedicine-and-laser-surgery/128) Important Information Abstract The structured format for the abstract consists of: 1) the objective of one or two sentences 2) the background data is a short paragraph describing the present status of the field 3) methods are a statement of the plan and/or methods used in the study 4) the results are a concise summary of the essential features verified by the data, and 5) the conclusions are a brief description of the objective findings of the study. References are not permitted in the abstract. Finally, ALL ABSTRACTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ENGLISH. Parameters All submitted abstracts MUST include a detailed description of the treatment (light or energy delivery) as well as the device used in performing such treatment (light or energy delivery). A description of the device must include the name of the manufacturer, the equipment model, power output, the wavelength of the light source, including a description of the source, e.g., solid state, gas, laser diode, light-emitting diode, etc., and the shape, size and type of treatment applicator (delivery system or device) used in delivering treatment. Similarly, a detailed description of treatment parameters is necessary and should, at a minimum, include: The irradiance or power density measured in W/cm2, The dose in the form of energy density or fluence measured in J/cm2, The duration of each treatment session, preferably measured in seconds, The frequency of treatment (i.e., the number of times treatment was done per week), The cumulative dose given, i.e., the individual doses multiplied by the number of treatment sessions. ABSTRACTS THAT FAIL TO THE INSTRUCTIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
