Not every professional threat requires you to fight or disappear.

Under pressure, protection can look like “I have to protect myself from you” or “I have to protect myself by getting away from you.”

But self-leadership gives us more choices.

Can I stay connected while setting a clearer boundary?
Can I respect this dynamic without abandoning what I need?
Can I discern how much access, energy, or priority this connection actually deserves?

The goal isn't connection at all costs. It's developing enough awareness to choose when to lean in, when to create space, and when a relationship needs to occupy a different place in our lives.

That discernment is part of regulation, too.

Grief doesn’t always look like grief.

Sometimes it looks like sitting a little longer. Moving a little slower. Missing who someone was—or who you used to be.

And sometimes, grief teaches us something about love, resilience, surrender, or what it means to keep living without leaving what mattered behind.

For Memory in Motion, I’m collecting your stories.

What has grief taught you? What have you lost, and what has helped you continue to grow around what you still carry?

Send me your reflection by DM before August 20. Selected stories will be shared anonymously during our National Grief Awareness Day gathering.

Then join us:

Rest is not a reward for finally becoming exhausted enough.

If you expect your body to produce, provide, create, lead, and perform, rest cannot be something it has to earn. It is one of the resources that makes all of that possible.

And sometimes, that uncomfortable feeling of disconnection isn't punishment or proof that something is wrong.

It's an invitation to come home.

What if instead of fighting the discomfort, we recognized it as our cue to return to center—to reconnect with ourselves and access the clarity, capacity, and relief waiting there?

You don't have to withhold the very resources you need to feel better.

Join us Wednesdays in Centered and experience what it feels like to be regularly reminded of your non-negotiables—and supported in actually honoring them.

Excited to share I'll be facilitating at the 2026 Texas Volunteer Management Conference this October!

I'll be leading a workshop titled "The Cost of Constant Capacity: Helping Volunteers and Leaders Sustain Their Impact Without Burning Out."

My hope is that every person who joins this session leaves with more than inspiration. I want them to leave with practical, sustainable tools for protecting their capacity, strengthening their leadership, and continuing to serve others without leaving themselves behind in the process.

Honored to be part of this year's conference, and I can't wait to learn alongside so many leaders dedicated to serving their communities.

See you in October, Texas!

The goal isn't to never lose your center. It's to know how to return to it.

Life will knock us off balance.

A difficult conversation. A change in plans. An unexpected disappointment. A season of uncertainty.

None of those mean you've failed.

The practice is simply to notice when you've drifted—and gently make your way back home to yourself.

Again.
And again.
And again.

Because self-leadership isn't about perfection.

It's about remembering that no matter where life takes you, you can always return to the person who has been with you all along.

Who do you become when pressure narrows your perspective?

Pressure doesn't just influence decisions—it influences the person making them.

When expectations rise, resources feel limited, and uncertainty becomes the norm, how we lead shapes every conversation, every decision, and every person depending on us.

That's why I'm inviting leaders to Pressure, Choice & Capacity: An Executive Immersion Preview on August 27.

Together, we'll explore how to navigate pressure without collapsing under it.

If you're committed to lead with greater clarity, intention, and steadiness—even in uncertain times—I would love to have you in the room.

RSVP by August 7 to secure your spot.

Memory deserves space. So do you.

Grief isn't something we "get over." It's something we learn to carry with compassion, connection, and time.

In recognition of National Grief Awareness Day, I'd love to invite you to Memory in Motion: A Space to Remember & Reflect at Klyde Warren Park.

Through storytelling, creative reflection, gentle mindfulness, and a simple coloring activity centered around the Tree of Life, we'll honor the people, relationships, and seasons of life that continue to shape us.

Whether you're grieving a loved one, a relationship, a dream, a version of yourself, or simply carrying something that deserves acknowledgment, you're welcome here.

Pressure is inevitable. How you lead through it is a choice.

The decisions that shape an organization are rarely made when everything is calm.

They're made when priorities collide, capacity is stretched, information is incomplete, and people are looking to leadership for clarity.

That's why I'm hosting Pressure, Choice & Capacity: An Executive Immersion—a complimentary experience for leaders who want to strengthen decision confidence, expand capacity, and lead more intentionally under pressure.

This won't be a lecture.

It's an opportunity to experience practical, research-informed tools alongside other leaders who understand the weight of making decisions that affect people, performance, and culture.

If you're an executive, founder, HR leader, or people leader committed to building sustainable leadership, I'd be honored to have you join us.

Space is intentionally limited to create a meaningful experience. Registration is complimentary, and advance registration is required.

The best ROI begins long before the numbers do.

When most organizations talk about return on investment, they're thinking about productivity, retention, engagement, and performance.

Those outcomes matter.

But they don't happen by accident.

They begin with a ripple of influence.

When leaders and teams are clear on what matters, communicate with intention, and know how to repair when communication breaks down, that clarity spreads. Trust spreads. Accountability spreads. Better decisions spread.

That's the kind of ripple that creates sustainable performance.

Because disruption isn't the problem.

The inability to return to a shared mission is.

The strongest organizations aren't the ones that avoid conflict or uncertainty. They're the ones that know how to reconnect, realign, and move forward together.

That's the ROI I'm most interested in helping organizations create and also why I'm so hype about our upcoming Executive Immersion Preview taking place 8/27✨

Your greatest strength isn't staying on track.
It's knowing how to return.

Life will interrupt your momentum.

There will be unexpected pivots, hard seasons, celebrations, disappointments, and moments that ask something different of you than you planned.

The goal isn't to never get knocked off course.

The goal is to stop mistaking disruption for failure.

So many people never return to themselves because somewhere along the way they stopped trusting themselves. They believe one setback erased all the progress they made.

It didn't.

Every return is an act of self-trust.

Every return is an opportunity to remember who you are now—not who you were before life asked you to grow.

You are evolving.
Your circumstances are evolving.
Your approach will evolve too.

Instead of judging yourself for needing to begin again, honor the privilege of being able to return to yourself with greater wisdom than you had before.

Because sustainable growth isn't about never leaving the path.

It's about always knowing the way back home.
