Let's delve into the ultimate comparison: Actinic Keratosis vs. Squamous Cell Carcinoma—understanding the progression from sun-damaged skin to potential cancer. 👨⚕️👩⚕️
Knowledge is key!🔑
Key things to remember:
1️⃣ Actinic keratosis is a PREcancerous skin condition
2️⃣Actinic keratosis might appear light, dark, pink or tan, or any combination of these; also dry and scaley
3️⃣ Squamous cell carcinoma is the 2nd MOST common skin cancer
4️⃣ Squamous cell carcinoma may result from actinic keratosis- appearing as flat, reddish, or brown patches that have a rough, scaly, crusted surface
Treatment and detection is key! And such an important job as a future NP! 👏
