Today is Ada Lovelace Day (ALD) in which we celebrate the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It aims to encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM.
Ada Lovelace is the perfect woman to celebrate this idea because despite being born in 1815, she is credited as being the first computer programmer.
Now that is a major achievement!
