September is Attendance Awareness Month! 🤩 Dallas ISD is excited to bring awareness to the importance of attendance. Being in school supports social, emotional and physical well-being while providing opportunities to learn and achieve. We are looking forward to a great 2022-23 school year and we want to see our students all day, every day while school is in session.

Following Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order lifting the mandatory mask-wearing requirement, Texas Education Agency released guidance for schools to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Schools must continue to require students and staff to wear masks. Based on these guidelines and our commitment to student and staff safety, Dallas ISD will continue following our current health and safety protocols requiring that students and staff wear masks over their nose and mouth and adhere to hand-washing and social distancing practices when on district property. We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation. We will bring updates as they are provided.

With the aftermath of the inclement weather still presenting very real challenges for our families and schools, Dallas ISD schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 22 and 23, and there will be no virtual learning. District essential staff are working throughout the weekend to clean up and repair pipes and water damage at the schools. Campus staff will not report to work, but central staff are expected to resume their regular schedules.

Updates will be provided on the district website and social media channels. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare schools for students’ safe return.
