🎉 Cross Elementary School is celebrating one of its own! Please join us in congratulating Cierra Finley on her new role as assistant principal!

Cierra Finley brings more than seven years of experience in public education and currently serves as a fifth-grade reading and language arts teacher at Cross Elementary in Mesquite ISD.

Prior to joining Mesquite ISD, Ms. Finley served as an instructional mentor in Tulsa Public Schools and held instructional leadership roles as a department chair, site coach and team leader in Tulsa Public Schools, Houston ISD, Alief ISD, Katy ISD and Spring ISD.

Ms. Finley has completed Mesquite ISD’s Aspiring Assistant Principal Program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Education in educational administration from Lamar University.

We celebrated 🎉 the end of the grading period with our final assembly of the year! Our 💙CARE 💛assembly highlighted all the accomplishments of our students and teachers this year! We had a blast with our DJ Quincy and our teacher dance off. One more 1/2 day families before summer begins.

We are keeping a close eye on the forecast for Friday! While we are hoping for sunshine and outdoor fun, we do have a rainy day backup plan ready just in case. 💙

Our April attendance initiative was such a hit we've done it again for May. Thank you parents for getting our students to school on time each day. Let's keep the momentum going as we enter the final days of the year. ⚡️💙

Our Pre-K students marched their way through the alphabet at the ABC Parade! From amazing costumes to creative letter-themed outfits, our little learners showed off their hard work, confidence, and school spirit. 💙✨

We are so proud of all the students for bringing the ABCs to life in such a fun and memorable way! Thank you to our families and teachers for helping make this special event a success. 📚🎈

No plans this weekend; NO PROBLEM! Come to Fan Faire at Horn High School tomorrow from 9-1. It's FREE for the whole family!

We're wrapping up the school year one day at a time. Our students had an amazing time celebrating the final C.A.R.E. Club Day of the school year. From creativity and teamwork to laughter and new friendships, these clubs gave students the opportunity to explore their interests and make lasting memories. Thank you to our staff and club committee who helped make each club experience so special. We can’t wait to see what next year brings! 💙💛
