✨ Meet Our New Assistant Principal, Mrs. Finley! ✨

Hello, Cross C.A.R.E. Givers!

My name is Mrs. Cierra Finley, and I am beyond excited to serve as the new Assistant Principal at Cross Elementary! 💙

Education has taken me on quite the journey. I graduated in 2017 from Prairie View A&M University with a B.A. in English Literature, and began teaching high school English in the Houston area before moving to Tulsa, where I continued teaching 11th and 12th grade. After returning to Houston to teach middle school, I found myself back in Tulsa as an instructional coach. During that time, I was asked to support an elementary campus, and that's when everything clicked. I realized elementary was exactly where I was meant to be! I joined the Cross family two years ago as a 5th grade Reading Language Arts teacher, and I am so grateful to continue this journey as your Assistant Principal.

My passion is in helping every student grow, supporting teachers, and building a campus where children feel safe, challenged, and excited to learn each day. I believe strong relationships are at the heart of a great school, and I can't wait to partner with our amazing families this year.

My name is Dr. Rhonda McGuire, and I am honored and excited to serve as the principal of Cross Elementary. For more than 24 years, I have dedicated my career to public education because I believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Throughout my journey as an educator and school leader, I have learned that exceptional schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful partnerships among families, staff, and the community. My vision for Cross Elementary is to build upon its strong foundation by creating a school where every student is empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing a lifelong love of learning. I believe in open communication, celebrating successes, and working collaboratively to ensure every child thrives. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children, reading, exploring walking trails, and attending church. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the school year and cannot wait to meet each of you as we continue building on the proud traditions of Cross Elementary while striving to become the Gold Standard—a school where students excel, staff flourish, families are valued, and our entire community is proud to learn, work, and belong. Together, we will make this an incredible year filled with growth, achievement, and success for every student.
