CHARTER UPDATE: The A.R.T.S. Academy has passed the completion check and is moving forward to the external review stage of the charter!

The A.R.T.S. Academy is one step closer to bringing a truly unique and holistic educational experience to students in Waxahachie and surrounding areas - we’ve submitted our Generation 28 Charter School Application to the Texas Education Agency (TEA)!

In a new report, the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools examines results from a survey of more than 5,000 parents conducted by The Harris Poll in 2022.
Major takeaways from the report:
* Parents value choice—93% agree one size doesn’t fit all in education. More than 1 in 4 parents have switched school type and 86% of all parents surveyed want options for their children other than the district school they are zoned for or assigned to attend.
* Charter schools are a popular choice among parents who switched the type of school their children attend.
* Safety is a #1 priority.
* Parents who switched school types are happy with the choices they made. 89% of parents whose children made a switch report that they or their child experienced a positive change as a result.
* More than 4 in 5 parents (83%) agree that education has become a more important political issue to them than it was in the past, and 82% are willing to vote outside their party on the issue of education.
* Support for charter schools is high. 3 Iin 4 parents want more public charter school offerings in their area.
