Look who got caught reading — Principal Nevels!
At our school, reading isn’t just something students do, it’s something leaders do too. Thank you, Principal Nevels, for modeling a love of literacy and lifelong learning.
Who will we catch reading next?

Attn Parents / Guardians.... Mandatory Use of 2025-2026 DISD Universal ID Badges!
Effective February 2026, all Wilmer-Hutchins High School students who are bus riders are required to present and scan their DISD-issued Universal ID Badge.
All students must hold and use their current 2025-2026 Universal Student ID Badge for the following reasons:
- Student entry
- Bus transportation
- Library access
- Lunchroom meals
- Hall passes
- Athletic events
- Proof of student identity
Expired or unapproved ID badges are not permitted. If a student has lost or damaged their badge, the cost of a replacement is $5 cash.
Please note that ID Badges are a required component of the DISD-approved student uniform and must be properly worn and always visibly displayed at all times. ID badges are also a critical part of maintaining a safe and secure campus environment.
We are asking parents and guardians for assistance in ensuring that your child has a badge that is worn daily as part of their uniform to school.
Thank you in advance.
