For our pilot, we’re looking for 4 artists ages 13-19 to design a suite of cards that will be produced and shared at a public launch party. If there’s something you want to say, there’s probably a sticker that says it for you. On May 30th, we’re inviting artists ages 8-12 to design their own set of stickers! We’ll look at our favorite designs, learn what makes them work, and create a sticker sheet with copies to share with family and friends. Stick ‘em Up is $25 a student and you can register today at our website! Still looking for a summer camp? Register for one of our favorite classes EVER: Characters and Comics! Perfect for any young story teller, this week-long half day camp takes artists through the basics of making their own comic book. We’ll start with a cast of characters and immediately jump into making comic strips! All artwork made during camp will be printed into a take-home comic book. Sharing one of our fav art resources: Sanzo Wada’s Dictionary of Color Combinations! This multi-volume resource has been an inspiration for creative work of all kinds, from artmaking to fashion and beyond. You can even access the color palettes for free online! If you want to experiment with using these color combinations in your work, we have a fun art prompt for this Thursday’s free Open Studio for teens. See you there!

Another edition of Morning Makes is coming up this Saturday! Our studio will be open from 10am-1pm for free, drop-in artmaking for families and artists of all ages. In Piece by Piece, artists ages 8-12 will bring their digital skills into the real world in a design lab of three project starters where small parts make something bigger: lego printmaking, perler beads, and paper mosaics. Morning Makes is back!! 🎉🎨 Join us this Saturday for a morning of free artmaking. Morning Makes is a laid-back, drop-in workshop that happens every Second Saturday of the month.
