Forest Vista Music Amazon Wishlist: I am creating individual music kits for my students when we are back in the building (but can't share supplies). LISD Fine Arts and FVE Administration have helped with much of these but there are some more fun things I hope to add. Please feel free to share this or let me know of organizations looking to help out during this time. Thanks!

This has definitely been a year I will never forget with my Choir and Chimes kids for lots of reasons, but the best one is our performance at TMEA on February 14, 2020. I had no idea that would be our last performance for the year, but I am so grateful we got to have it. Here's a look back at that wonderful day, with some music that we were supposed to sing on our Disney-themed Spring Concert. Love these kids!

Beethoven Symphony No. 9 - Mvt. 4 - Barenboim/West-Eastern Divan Orchestra 04/03/2020

One of the most famous pieces for choir today, and good one for brightening up a cloudy day: the last movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, the "Ode to Joy." The whole piece is long. If you want to hear the famous part, skip to 14:00 minutes. Happy Friday!

Libera in America: How Can I Keep From Singing 03/31/2020

Good morning! This is Libera, a boy choir from England. They were on tour in the US and posted this video from a concert in Washington DC. It's a new arrangement of "How Can I Keep from Singing?" Those words have new meaning for me now.

You Are the New Day 03/30/2020

Today's music for the start of a new week: "You Are the New Day" by the King's Singers. They are a group of 6 men (yes, even the high parts are sung by men) from England who sing mostly a ca****la (no instruments) music. This is my favorite piece by them:

Today's music is "The Awakening," sung by the Baylor University Men's Glee Club in 1996. Many of my college friends were in this group, and their concerts were my favorite to go to at Baylor. The beautiful piece talks about how music lives in the midst of bad times.

This Little Light of Mine (20-96460) 03/27/2020

Hi, choir friends! Daily choir posts are back on Facebook! This is the Houston Children's Chorus at TMEA in 2012. They are singing one of my other top 10 favorite choir pieces, "This Little Light of Mine."

This Little Light of Mine (20-96460) Stephen Roddy directs the Houston Children's Chorus, in a performance of "This Little Light of Mine" as arranged by Ken Berg at the 2007 TMEA convention. Thi...
