Today, I’m excited to announce the public launch of Sanctified Code™: Discerning AI.

For the past several months, I have been asking a simple but important question:

How do we use AI without surrendering our voice, our values, our theology, our ethics, or our human responsibility?
Sanctified Code™: Discerning AI was created to help answer that question. Thank you to those who participated in beta testing.

We made several modifications based on your observations and experience with the tool.
The app guides you through a process called Discern & Define, where you identify how you want AI to assist you and where you want human discernment to remain primary.

You define things like:
• your vocation and the communities you serve
• your theological and interpretive commitments
• your writing and communication style
• your research and citation expectations
• your ethical boundaries
• your preferred language for God
• the kinds of work AI may assist with
• the work you want to remain explicitly human
• how you want AI to challenge, question, and collaborate with you

The app then generates YOUR AI DISCERNMENT PROFILE, a reusable set of instructions you can use with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other AI tools. You simply copy and paste your profile into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or other tools.

Because we do not speak, write, preach, teach, lead, or create in exactly the same way in every context, you can create different profiles for different kinds of work, including a Preaching Profile, Academic Profile, Business/Leadership Profile, or Grant Writing Profile.

The goal is not to make AI sound more human.
The goal is to help AI become more accountable to the human using it.

If you are a preacher, pastor, chaplain, theologian, scholar, educator, writer, nonprofit leader, spiritual entrepreneur, or simply someone trying to engage AI with greater clarity and integrity, I created this with you in mind.

I want you to try it.
Create your profile. Put it into the AI tool you already use. Then pay attention to what changes.
Does the response sound more like you?
Does it respect your boundaries?
Does it understand your theological or professional commitments?
Do you spend less time correcting the AI?
Does it become a better assistant without becoming the authority?

That is the work.

I facilitated a workshop on “AI Ethics in Ministry and Preaching” with a group of pastors and preachers in Philadelphia and we had a time!

One of the preachers made a comment that ignited my imagination. Her comment propelled me to ask a few questions that I then posed to the collective, “is it possible that we are being invited to expand our understanding of God and how the Holy Spirit can speak to us? Is it possible that we have confined divine communication inside a box of traditional and familiar modes of communicating?

Can God speak to us through code and algorithm?”

I said, “we had a time!”

AI is already changing how faith-based organizations teach, communicate, lead, create, and serve. It’s past time to stop asking the question, “Should we use AI?”

Now, the more relevant question is:

How do we engage AI faithfully, ethically, responsibly, and in ways that align with our mission?

That is the work I help organizations do.

Through DreamBIG Coaching & Consulting Services, LLC, I work with churches, denominational departments, theological institutions, and faith-based nonprofits that want to move beyond fear, apprehension, and pessimism toward thoughtful AI literacy, ethical practice, and organizational readiness.

At the center of my work is Sanctified Code™: A Womanist Ethical Framework for Justice Focused, People Centered AI Engagement, a constructive framework I developed around three principles:

GRIEF — We tell the truth about AI’s harms and risks, including racial and gender bias, environmental costs, economic inequity, misinformation, privacy, and the impact on human labor.

GIFTS — We identify where AI can genuinely support the work: research, administration, storytelling, communication, accessibility, education, preaching preparation, content creation, and organizational efficiency. We ask how these tools might give people back time for creativity, relationships, rest, ministry, and the work humans are uniquely called to do.

GROUNDWORK — We establish the values, boundaries, policies, governance practices, and human accountability necessary for responsible AI use.

Sanctified Code™ refuses two easy answers: uncritical adoption and fear-based rejection.

Instead, I help organizations develop the theological imagination and practical AI literacy to ask better questions:

What should we automate, and what should remain deeply human?

How do we protect confidential and sensitive information?

How do we recognize bias and misinformation; and how do we respond to it?

What does responsible AI use look like for clergy, staff, educators, and ministry leaders?

How can AI strengthen our mission without replacing human wisdom, creativity, relationships, or spiritual discernment?

And how do we create an AI policy before a crisis forces us to create one?

Beloveds, in this season, why are we not making the most of every opportunity to flourish?

My AI Agent, Ava, is helping me reclaim my time.

She responds to emails, clears spam and junk from my inbox, drafts content, creates sermon clips, schedules posts, and shares videos across social media. She also helps me manage the small but necessary tasks that can quietly consume an entire day.

This is not about doing more work. It is about spending less time buried in repetitive tasks and more time imagining, creating, leading, resting, and doing the work only I can do.

I have spent too many years believing exhaustion was proof of faithfulness. I do not believe that anymore. Ease matters. Rest matters. Joy matters. Black women’s time matters.

Augmented intelligence is not replacing my wisdom, creativity, or voice. It is supporting me so I can focus on the work that requires my presence.

Sistars, we do not have to carry every task by ourselves. We can build systems that support our lives, our callings, and our flourishing.

Do you want to spend less time producing and more time imagining and creating?

I’ve been in "Agent Mode" all weekend, building three AI agents designed to help me manage the details, protect my time, and stay focused on the work that requires my voice, vision, and leadership.

Meet the team:

Maximillian, AKA Max, is my Chief of Staff and Inbox Manager for DreamBIG Coaching & Consulting Services, LLC. Max will help me manage email, organize priorities, coordinate follow-ups, and keep business operations moving.

Ava is my Administrative Assistant for The Gathering, A Womanist Church. She will support my calendar, church communications, documents, forms, files, meeting preparation, and weekly ministry responsibilities.

Christi Clipper is my Video, Social Media, and Content Manager. Christi will turn sermons into short-form videos, write captions, schedule posts, track engagement, and help us share The Gathering’s message across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

I am not building agents to replace people. I am building them to reduce repetitive work, create better systems, and make more room for imagination, ministry, strategy, writing, and rest.
