The wonderful outreach team continued supporting the communities at YWAM Ntaja. Week 3 and 4 were filled with diverse ministry activities such as continuing composting workshops of formerly built ones to teach maintaining them for the result of high quality compost. These workshops have a double impact on the community since chemical fertilizer has become too expensive, producing compost is now not only important for farmersโ own fields but selling it is also a big business opportunity.
We further taught principles of ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ฑ'๐ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ that help grow bigger yields through ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐น ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป and ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐บ๐ผ๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ.
In these two weeks not only did we get to teach at a ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ปโ๐ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฝ but also ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ of
cleaning, maintenance, โฆ
We feel very thankful and excited about the growing impact God through sustainable development in the community and are happy to partner with YWAM Nataja in this!
Would you consider to pray with us for the coming weeks where we will head to our next destination? Please pray for continued health for the team, open doors and hearts of the people and joy and hope that surpasses all understanding that we can carry to the people of Malawi!

For the first few weeks of outreach we are excited to serve alongside ๐ฌ๐ช๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ฎ๐ท๐ฎ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ถ. As part of our ministry here we went to the field nearby where we got to train YWAM staff and community members how to build compost piles in order to bring back nutrients into the soil. Together with the community members we built a compost so that they would have the practical knowledge. It was a big challenge to fetch water for the compost pile as the closest borehole was 15 mins away.
We were excited to have the villagers be very interested asking many questions. We learned that many people are unable to afford chemical fertilizer and therefore have bad harvests, but even when using chemical fertilizer people receive only small harvests. After being taught how to build a compost out of dry material like cornstalks, manure and green โaliveโ material like leaves one villager said โ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฃ'๐ฉ ๐ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฃ ๐ช๐จ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ข๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐๐ก๐จ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ก๐ค๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ก๐.
The students work well together, with joy and high standard which are both values of the SSD.
We returned the next day to show the community members how to turn and maintain the compost. Furthermore we served the base by digging holes for a place where trash can be gathered and burned. We also spend a rest day doing laundry and enjoying time together. Sunday we visited a church where we shared about sustainable development. The church members were very inspired.
The following days were spent maintaining the compost alongside of the community members again and reading the book โAgainst all Hope: Hope for Africaโ by Darrow Miller. We had the opportunity to meet many community leaders โ called chiefs โ and were invited to host more trainings in the community. We also got to take part in Bible Studies and -as an important part of community development built good relationships with the chiefs and community members.
๐๐พWould you pray for many more open doors and hearts to receive training and the love of God? Please also pray for our health and for the Lord to use us in his will! We are thankful to be able to serve him here in Ntaja! ๐ฒ๐ผ

This past week the students learned about ๐๐ป๐ถ๐บ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฟ๐. Animals play an important role not only in our day-to-day life but also in sustainable cycles of farming. The students learned about feeding, breeding and how to make money with domestic animals. We also talked about the health, common diseases and vaccines for our animals. Outside of the classroom were workshops about how to make ๐ข๐ฟ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ and fun community times with ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป and ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐ก๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ!

Week 3 was full of learning about how God created ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ and the earth to naturally sustain itself and how we as mankind are to steward creation through ๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ. A variety of methods were shared, including using compost & manure for ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ and alternative techniques, such as ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ถ ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ, ๐ ๐๐น๐๐ถ-๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐ด๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด and ๐ ๐๐น๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด.

During this week the students learned about the ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ and ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐. On a practical note they learned how to build a thermal compost using locally available materials and how to prepare their land for planting using farming God's way technics.
