Atlanta Fly Fishing School hosted the International Federation of Flyfishers (IFF) this weekend. Master Certified Instructors from around the county came to provide testing and exams to future casting instructor hopefuls.

ATLANTA FLY FISHING SCHOOL will be in Blue Ridge Georgia for the TROUT FESTIVAL with a moving water casting pond and seminar tent. Come improve your skills with our five certified and master certified instructors.

Seminars
The schedule of presentations will be as follows:
10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Early Bird Clinic – The Six Essentials of Fly Casting
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Where to Fly Fish in Georgia – A review of Georgia’s major fisheries, focusing on North Georgia’s streams and lakes. Learn about fishing regulations, Georgia’s delayed harvest program, and reading streams and other waters. Participants will receive a map of Georgia’s trout fisheries.
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Basic Fly Fishing Equipment – What you need to know in selecting rods, reels, lines, leaders, and tippets. How to get the best bang for your buck based on AFFS experience and research so you can hit the stream with as much (or as little) as you need. Participants will receive a leader and tippet courtesy of Scientific Anglers (TBD).
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Flies of Fly Fishing – A lesson in stream-side entomology, so you can tie or buy the right flies at the right time in the right place to catch fish anywhere. Attendees will receive a dozen flies selected for north Georgia waters.
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Where to Fly Fish in Georgia (repeat)
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Basic Fly Fishing Equipment (repeat)
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Flies of Fly Fishing (repeat)
4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Repeat of lesson on the Six Essentials of Fly Casting
