Here at Zeus’ Warren, it’s been a busy and emotional 2 weeks.
It started with our eldest boy, Jaqen (9 years old), facing a serious case of gastrointestinal stasis. We’re still unsure of the exact cause, but suspect dehydration combined with gas slowed his gut, causing severe pain and leaving him unwilling to eat or drink on his own. We acted quickly, and after a week of syringe feeding him four times a day, administering subcutaneous fluids twice daily, and providing other medications, we’re thrilled to report that Jaqen is back to his happy, loving self. There's a very special friend we'd like to give a shout out to, she came over several times throughout that week and helped give Jaq fluids as well as teaching us how to do it. She helped save his life and we're eternally grateful.
The following week, our other boy, Frank, was neutered. He came through surgery like a champ and is recovering well. Just a few more days of confinement, and he’ll be back to climbing stairs and racing through the house.
Today, we’re excited to welcome the newest member of Zeus’ Warren: Sarabi (Sara). She came from a loving home, but due to unfortunate circumstances, her owner had to make the difficult decision to rehome her. We commend her mom for doing the right thing—choosing a safe, caring home instead of a shelter or worse. Sara is in good hands now, and we’ll give her all the love and friendship she deserves. With time, we hope she’ll bond with Frank and become part of a happy & hoppy pair!
