A little peek into preschool life! Our Bulldog Buddies have been busy building, creating, pretending, exploring, talking, writing, and learning together. From dramatic play and art to early literacy and classroom conversations, there is so much learning happening through play each day!

Our Lake Street preschoolers took a trip to the art room to create self-portraits with Mrs. Banach! They explored the special details that make up our faces and used those observations to create their own works of art. Each portrait turned out a little different, just like each of our Bulldog Buddies!

Bulldog Buddies celebrated International Dot Day with creativity, exploration, and lots of hands-on learning inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds!We read the story, the Dot, and explored art, math, science, and STEM as they created their own colorful dot artwork, designed and built structures using dot candy and toothpicks, and investigated how many drops of water it would take to fill different-sized dots. A day of creating, experimenting, building, counting, and seeing where one little dot can take us!

There’s a lot happening in preschool! From creating and counting to practicing letters, pretending, exploring, reading, moving, and playing with friends, our Bulldog Buddies are learning all day long. The best part? So much of that learning looks exactly like what childhood should look like: play, discovery, movement, creativity, and fun!

Descriptive text: Preschoolers participate in classroom and outdoor activities, including cutting a paper bag, practicing letters, swinging, moving scarves, counting with manipulatives, painting, listening to a story, threading beads, dramatic play, and caring for a baby doll. Our preschoolers took a close look at someone very special, themselves! Using mirrors, they studied their features and created self-portraits as part of our All About Me study. From eyes and smiles to hair and expressions, each portrait is as unique as the preschooler who created it!

Descriptive text: Preschoolers look at their reflections in handheld and tabletop mirrors while drawing self-portraits with crayons and pencils. So much learning happens through play! Our Bulldog Buddies have been busy exploring, creating, building friendships, practicing their names, making art, investigating materials, enjoying outdoors, and learning together in small and large groups. Every part of the preschool day brings a new opportunity to learn, grow, and connect!

Today, our Bulldog Buddies kicked off our All About Me study! Over the next few weeks, our preschoolers will explore what makes each of them unique while learning about their names, families, feelings, interests, similarities, and differences. Through play, conversations, stories, art, and hands-on activities, children will build a stronger sense of self while getting to know their classmates, too!
