After 2 Events - Here are the TOC Qualifiers. You will be getting your TOC invite this week via email. If you know that your boat will NOT be able to compete at the TOC, please let us know so that we can move down the standings. We want to ensure that we have a full field of 30 boats for our season ending TOC. 10 more qualifiers will earn their spot July 25th at Green Lake in Spicer, MN. Get registered on Fishing Chaos.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th yesterday! Thank you to all of the kids and captains Nick and Adam for towing the boats in the Crosby parade, and to Jay and Jen for picking up all of the candy for the kids to throw.

Our Crosby-Ironton Rangers were at it again over the weekend participating in the Lund Virtual Fishing League. 15 teams consisting of 20 Ranger anglers were in the field of 175 teams.
C-I had 3 teams finish in the top 20, 2 of which were top 10 and one podium finish! All of our kids gave a great effort.
Full team results were -
115th place - Chase Horner/Nate Horner 7.82 lbs
110th place - Kohen Busse/Jerry Busse 8.46 lbs
90th place - Beckett Pearson/Brekken Pearson 11.92 lbs
89th place - Hunter Nash/Hayden Fort 12.20 lbs
78th place - Avery Perpich/Isaac Perpich 13.76 lbs
70th place - Henry Knutson/Glen Knutson 15.22 lbs
66th place - Freddie Koschmeder/Nick Koschmeder 15.67 lbs
58th place - Garrett Stealy 16.74 lbs
52nd place - Aycen Holmvig/Eric Holmvig 17.58 lbs
51st place - Evan Dvorak 17.69 lbs
The top 5 Ranger teams include George Knutson and Forest Fehn finishing 46th overall with 18.30 lbs, Carson Holmvig and Jackson Jones finishing 31st overall with 20.81 lbs, Keyon Wesner landing 23.57 lbs for 18th place, Ryan Wlasiuk and Davin Fisher finding 27.90 lbs for 7th place overall while Bailey and Finley Schmitt again landed on the podium with 29.55 lbs, good enough for 5th place and another pair of trophies to add to their growing collection!

The bite is changing and the competition is raising the bar with some incredible weights from across the state but our kids are finding ways to be right up there with them. It was a great team effort overall and having 2 teams in the top 10 in a very competitive field is phenomenal.

After a fast-paced start we will have a little lull in the schedule in the next couple of weeks. Our next tournament stops are home waters for the Rangers; July 11th the Junior Angler Tournament Trail (JATT) will be on Bay Lake while our Student Angler Tournament Trail (SATT) anglers will be fishing Gull on July 12th.

It was a busy weekend for the Ranger Fishing Team as our juniors traveled to Lake Waconia to compete in the Junior Angler Tournament Trail on Saturday and our SATT anglers competed on Lake Minnetonka on Sunday.
Saturday fired off on Waconia with a tough bite and heavy competition. Our teams used the little experience they had there to form a game plan and throughout the day they modified presentations to work the stubborn fish into a decent bite pattern, which saw all 3 of our teams climb the leaderboard.
At the end of the day all 3 of our teams were in the top 20. Carson Holmvig and Jackson Jones landed 12.52 lbs, good enough for 17th place. Freddie Koschmeder and Declan Bray worked their way into an 8th place finish with their bag of 14.95 lbs, and the team of Bailey and Finley Schmitt continued their incredible 2026 season by landing themselves on the podium with 17.22 lbs and 3rd place!
With their 3rd and 8th place finishes Team Schmitt and Team Koschmeder/Bray both qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which will be held on North Long Lake in August!

The Student Angler Tournament Trail Presented by Lund & Rapala event on Minnetonka was a tough bite as well, and unfortunately for our 5 teams every time our kids made a move up the leaderboard their competition seemed to as well. It was still a fun event on very unfamiliar water so just being able to check that box of fishing the famed Minnetonka was worth it for the teams.
With 207 teams competing our top placing team of Hunter Nash and Evan Dvorak took 59th place with 16.16 lbs. Overall our teams put just over 55 lbs of bass on their scorecards. With zero familiarity with Tonka and very little time to learn it I was still proud of our boys and their effort.

C-I will be back at it this weekend with the 3rd Lund Virtual Fishing League of the 2026 season!

Big shout out to Evan Blakley for coming to our meeting last night at the Deerwood Legion and talking strategy with the team! Evan is so generous when it comes to giving the kids great information and just talking shop with a bunch of enthusiastic anglers. He even stuck around to answer more questions after and joined us for a team photo!
Thanks again Evan for being a rockstar and go get 'em on Big Stone, you'll have a bunch of Rangers cheering you on!

Look who made the Lund page!

HUGE shoutout to the awesome fishing teams who kicked off the season with us!

We always love seeing our Minnesota and North Dakota teams show up strong - and we were thrilled to welcome teams from Wisconsin, Kansas, Tennessee, Iowa, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.

Thanks for fishing with us, we hope to see you back for the upcoming tournament!

Took a few days to catch up after our weekend down on the river. As anyone who has fished the Mississippi Pools 4 and 5 knows that water can be your best friend one minute and your worst enemy the next; it's loaded with fish but it doesn't always give them up easily, and getting to them sometimes can be hazardous as some teams found out (myself included as we found a sandbar that stranded us mid-river momentarily!)
Prefishing was a mixed bag, both literally and figuratively, as all of our teams caught some fish but also found that a lot of different species inhabit the same water as the bass we were targeting.
In the end 4 of our 6 teams found some bass to weigh on tournament day with one team finding that "river magic."
Chase Horner and Cuyler Williams bagged 3 largemouth and 1 smallie for 6.60 lbs and 100th place, Keyon Wesner and Brady Mahowald landed in 86th place with 5 largemouth and 1 smallie for a weight of 9.40 lbs while Garrett Stealy and Beckett Pearson filled their 7 fish bag with 13.79 lbs of largemouth, putting them in 59th overall.
After narrowly missing TOC qualification in the Whitefish event Hunter Nash and Evan Dvorak again found themselves on an epic largemouth bite that had them flipping fish in the boat steady and at one point had them at the very top of the 167 boat field. Eventually some of the opposing teams bumped them off the podium but their bag of 7 largemouth weighing 20.46 lbs was good enough to land them in 12th place and qualified them for the TOC! Following Keyon Wesner and Brady Mahowald's performance from last year they are only the 2nd team in program history to qualify. Fantastic job fellas!

Next stop for the Student Angler Tournament Trail Presented by Lund & Rapala is Lake Minnetonka on June 14th but our team will be back at it with the 2nd Lund Virtual Fishing League tournament this Sunday.
