A huge thank you to Grim Trails and former student Ben Schryver for opening just for our students on their Community Based Instruction day. Students got to tour the spooky trail while Ben talked about the history of Grim Trails, how to apply for a seasonal job, and what his schedule looks like working at the haunted attraction. Everyone had a blast!

Congratulations to Courtney Smith, recipient of the Ignite Passion Award! As a Crestwood Elementary Cougar Den leader, kindergarten assistant, substitute, and now PBS assistant, Ms. Smith is a “wagon puller” who sees a need and fills it, bringing heart and energy to every student and colleague she meets. She helps students feel safe, seen, and confident enough to believe in themselves, and she has stepped up to lead our classified staff in building stronger connection and communication. Ms. Smith doesn’t just show up for her job, she shows up for people, and Crestwood is a better place because of her!

At this month’s OCBE meeting, we were proud to recognize 12 OCS high school students who have earned National Merit Semifinalist status. This honor places them among the top-scoring students in the nation, and it reflects countless hours of hard work, curiosity, and dedication.

To these students: thank you for representing our schools so well. We’re also grateful to the families, teachers, and staff who have supported and encouraged them along the way.

Please join us in celebrating these remarkable scholars!
