Denaee Amaya is a Covina native, proud daughter of immigrants, and a passionate public servant. She is the only candidate in this race who is a product of Covina Valley Unified Schools. Denaee deeply understands the needs of our students, teachers, and community and has a track record of getting things done. As a Covina Library Trustee, Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Denaee is ready to bring this same momentum to represent youth and working families on the Covina Valley School Board.

Thank you for interviewing me and providing a platform where Latinas can share their perspectives. 💘

The conference was the reminder I needed to stay on this path. The past few months have been difficult, but conversations, workshops, and events like these reaffirm the importance of unity and Latino leadership in our state and across the country.

I was especially inspired by and ‘s panel on the power of authentic, informative storytelling. These powerhouse Latinas are bridging the gap between social media, civic engagement, and education in such meaningful ways.

Lastly, it was an honor to hear from our next—and first—Latino Governor of California.

Things feel heavy right now, but opportunities like this give me hope for the future and remind me why it’s so important to be part of the change.
