Just came across this interesting article on “Mono-tasking”

In a world with a million things trying to get your attention it’s easy to come to the conclusion that the more things you do at one time the better off you’ll be. Actually, tuning into one thing at a time and putting your all into it is the best way to go.

Playing the piano is one of those things that helps hone the skill of mono-tasking. Although there may be different aspects of the music to pay attention to, focusing on the music, and nothing else, is crucial for success.

The Music of the Spheres
Came across this thought provoking information about music and science combining to help us all better understand the universe we live in.

I guess the feeling I've always had that it's all made up of the same stuff wasn't too far out after all.

This year everyone drew a picture of something that reminds them of Christmas. Rudolph was center stage and Santa, presents, & Snowflakes were there too. Because we're in Southern California, even the sunshine showed up

Just read this article about an exoskeleton robot glove that helps train pianists to break through plateaus in their finger strength/dexterity abilities. Looks a little "science-fiction-y", but very interesting.

One of my students was looking through an old box of things he found in his grandmother’s attic and came across this song book from 1912. He brought it into his lesson and we played a few of the songs.
Very fun!

When I asked the kids what their "dream job" would be the answers ran the gamut from surgeon to mattress tester. All the responses were great and I was happy to see there was at least one that said music teacher.
