Last school year, we put some miles on the odometer! 🚙 From career fairs and student events to CTSO competitions, showcases, and community partnerships, the AACPS CTE team was out on the road connecting students to opportunities and helping them explore their futures. And we are just getting started… Here’s to a new school year with new adventures, new connections, and even more opportunities for students to discover their path.

So proud of recent graduate Nora Devine being named as a U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalists for her accomplishments in Career and Technical Education (CTE) at Severna Park High School! Nora participated in the Project Lead the Way Engineering program all four years at SPHS and is continuing her engineering studies at University of Maryland. We are wishing her good luck in the final round of the selection process!! Great job Nora!!! 👏

Shoutout to Forward Focus for putting our amazing CTE students in the spotlight! Ann and Nora are out here proving that CTE is more than classes — it’s a career launchpad! Ann attended Cat-South’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant & Certified Nursing Assistant Career Institutes graduating with 3 healthcare certifications and heading to UCONN for nursing, and Nora is taking her Project Lead the Way engineering skills from Severna Park High straight to UMD. 🏆 Huge congratulations to our incredible Central Middle MESA students who completed in the MESA State Competition! 🧠🚀

✨ 1st Place – Wearable Tech Competition
Ava Dominguez, Brook Graham, and Aria Fifer engineered a wearable device designed to monitor athletes for signs of heat exhaustion and alert them when it’s time to cool down.

✨ 3rd Place – Planetary Lander Competition
Emily Wirzburger, Tiffany Diaz, Elyse Bevers, and Brooklyn P***k designed a lightweight yet protective lander to safely deliver astronauts to another world.

These students used the engineering design process to solve real-world problems through creativity, teamwork, and innovation. We are so proud of their hard work and success! 👏

For $20, participants get: continental breakfast, lunch, a surprise blind bag, and special prizes for winning teams! This is an amazing opportunity for students interested in cyber and tech fields to collaborate, compete, learn and have fun!

Spring is in bloom and to celebrate the Phoenix Academy and Parole Rotary Club will be having a Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, April 25th from 9am - 2pm at the Phoenix Academy!
