Padre Island Rotary Club

Our Mission is Service Above Self, and Goodwill through our Fellowship with Business and Community. Padre Island Dr. on Padre Island. There are over 100 members.

The Rotary Club of Padre Island meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Pelican Lounge Meeting Room, 4330 S. The Padre Island Rotary is a service group. We raise funds and spend the majority of our monies in the local community. We support the Adoption Awareness Picnic program that pairs local foster children in our area with vetted families for adoption; we support Interact, which is the high school equivalent of Rotary. This program has been thriving at Flour Bluff High school for years. Our cub has several members that work as sponsors along with a school sponsor. We give out a number of scholarships throughout the year for academia and community services. We support RYLA which is a rotary sponsored Youth Leadership Camp. We pay for up to 3 selected Interact members to attend each year. We supply them with their club shirts, and snacks for their meeting. Another favorite program is our Women’s Shelter Birthday Party. Each month we check with the local women’s shelter and find out how many of the children have birthdays. Our members pick up pizzas, several birthday cakes,drinks and age appropriate gifts for each birthday child. We also support Timon’s Ministries back pack and tennis shoe program. Our International side is always helping to raise money to eradicate Polio throughout the world. We are at 99.9% Polio free. We are currently partnering with several other Corpus Christi Rotary Clubs to support a health clinic in Haiti. There are well over 100,000 Rotary clubs around the globe all working to give back to their communities and to make the world a better place for everyone. About Tuesday night......Part 1!

The Padre Island Rotary Club was honored to have Denay Hooks, Community OutReach Director from New Life Refuge as our September Speaker. Denay shared valuable information about the alarming numbers of human trafficking victims in Nueces County and around the state.
She also shared the incredible work that New Life Refuge does to help survivors of human trafficking recover and work their way into a meaningful life.
Thank you Denay and New Life Refuge for your service to the community and thank you for spending time with our club.

The Flour Bluff High School Rotary Interact Club volunteered at the 17th Annual Paddle For Parkinsons event on Saturday, September 5th on Padre Island. Club members assisted participants with launching and pull out and helped organizers with set up and clean up.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi is back in session so the Padre Island Rotary Club jumped back into action with our once a month sponsorship of SIL - Students Independently Living after living in the foster care system.
Our club serves as mentors during a monthly homemade dinner event with each Rotary member bringing a dish to pass. Conversations involve all types of subjects and we are proud to be involved with such an impressive group of future leaders.

Thank you to our president-elect Ingrid Spear, for leading the Padre Island Rotary Club meeting yesterday evening while our president is out of town. Tonight's meeting exemplified true leadership and dedication to service above self and shaping the way to a solid foundation for our organization and building towards future growth for our club so that we may reach more people that are in need.

At Tuesday's meeting at the Pelican Lounge Banquet Room, the Padre Island Rotary Club elected new officers for the executive committee for the 2026-2027 calendar year.
Continuing as President is Ken Ritchie, installed as President Elect is Ingrid Spear and re-installed as Treasurer is Naomi Ellis.
