As so many of us know and understand to your soul, there is nothing like the love of a pup that turns into dog that turns into a beloved member of the family, and finally the old man that can’t settle down at night unless he’s been in the recliner with you every time you sit down. So many of you got to know Max over the past 12 years and watched him grow from something I called “coyote” in personality to the sweetest, most gentile chill buddy ever. Max was half Lab and American bulldog. Although he was jacked in proportion, he was raised with domineering Chessies and a Belgian Malinois. He gave up on being the big dog, but found his place in keeping the crowd calm w/o being a pushover. Although he loved Sally the most from day one, The last part of his life was my favorite time and when we bonded the most. He became my shadow some years ago and wherever I was in the house or on the property he had to be at my side… just waiting for me to finally sit down in a recliner so he could get on the footrest for the rest of the evening. That was his spot and he wouldn’t unwind until he hit his chair time. Max was the gold standard of a loving dog that wanted nothing more than to be by mine or Sally’s side, look into his eyes and say, “who’s a good boy?”
We love you, buddy. Give Finn, Kya, Wigeon, Buddy and Cash our love. 😞🙏
