Nature never stops surprising me! 🍅

One of my Bella Rosa tomato plants produced this very unusual tomato with a long pointed “nose.” At first, I thought something might be wrong, but it turns out that odd shapes like this are usually caused by natural genetic variation or environmental conditions while the fruit is developing.

We’ve had plenty of rain and changing weather here in Corpus Christi, so that may have played a role. The good news is that the tomato is perfectly healthy and edible—just a little more unique than the others!

Have you ever grown a tomato with a funny shape? I’d love to see your photos in the comments! 😊🌱🍅

🌧️ Here in Corpus Christi, we are approaching a serious water crisis due to the severe drought affecting much of Texas. As a gardener, I’ve been looking for ways to save water in my backyard by using SIP containers with built-in water reservoirs and collapsible rain collection barrels.

But after weeks of dry weather, Mother Nature surprised us with some strong storms… and this was my backyard yesterday morning! 🌧️💦

Gardening in South Texas is definitely a challenge — from drought and extreme heat to sudden heavy rains — but we keep learning and adapting every season. 🌱

In today’s video, I’m sharing the story behind my channel name and one of my favorite flowering plants—Yellow Bells, also known as Esperanza plants. These bright yellow flowers are not only beautiful, but they are also one of the best plants for attracting hummingbirds to the garden.

The Esperanza plant holds a special meaning for me because “Esperanza” is also my middle name, and it means “hope.” Every time I see these flowers blooming and hummingbirds visiting my garden, it reminds me how much joy and life plants can bring.

Last January, I planted some tomato seeds in plastic containers under grow lights. They germinated and began to grow beautifully. Once the danger of frost had passed, I transplanted them outdoors.

With care, nurturing, and protection under a mesh cage, they continued to thrive — and this month, I’m finally harvesting them! 🍅 They are absolutely delicious.

I invite you to grow something in your garden too. There’s nothing more rewarding than harvesting food you grew with your own hands. 🌱 ,
