Mildly unorthodox, objectively great grip! I have seen at least 5 major grips types of the two handed variety and several subsets of each grip. This student has been working with me for a while and has grown and absorbed a lot of information. There has been a persistent, though not constant loosening of the student's grip at points of training between shots. After some warm up with a new gun, we worked together to find a strong, consistent grip that provided above average recoil management with no slip or degradation between shots. This is what success looks like!

Privileged with people's trust! 75% more accurate? Groups went from 16" at 5 yards to 6" at 10 yards A few weeks ago this student came to me wanting to improve their abilities. The owner of this target came in with years of shooting behind them, owned several guns and is an armed professional. For the first few hours we were not concerned about accuracy (have to work on one thing at a time). They were dismayed at their grouping: low left shooting a full 8 inches off center at 5 yards (off center you would need a 16" diameter circle to capture those). We first worked and refined the definition of muzzle management, then applied that to draw technique, moved to recoil management and sight picture, then to reloads. Back to what sight picture is more intuitive: Hard target focus, or Hard front sight focus? After all of that I was asked "what am I doing wrong that I'm missing?". I don't care what people are doing wrong: I prefer to tell you to do what's right. Thirty minutes later they were shooting this 6" grouping at 10 yards. I call that a win! Scamper is helping me cover the name of the shooter, some people like their anonymity.

I think the last vid was averaging 1.5 to the slide closing. This one is 1.3. Let me know what you think. And check out the new American made USA flag from Origin USA!

What two non skills do you see here are arguably more important than reload speed & technique? I'll comment my answer in a little bit. I will often have students focused on the wrong thing in a class. The most common is accuracy over handling: If you come in shooting bullseyes but can't execute proper trigger finger discipline. If you are barely on paper, but trigger finger discipline and muzzle management are rock solid; you will impress me immensely! And that applies to advanced skills: if your reloads are fast and your movement is flawless but you don't realize your finger has drooped to cover the trigger guard, you're on the road to a negligent discharge.

Don't slam the mag in unless you want the gremlins to pay you a visit. This happens infrequently but is possible if you are too rough. This pic captured for all you folk that are moving too fast.

Another great group of people learning about safety. Polite and courteous in all their emails co-ordinating this event: I had high expectations for this fraternity and they didn't disappoint! These guys took the entire day seriously, asked good questions and responded to all my feedback. Well done boys!

A huge shout out to these ladies and the lady behind the camera! One of them had been through considerable training before (and it showed) and the other two are coming up through our defensive program. Thanks to our unique background and teaching methodology even the most experienced shooter of the group came away with something brand new and important for self defense. We will be seeing a few of these great people in our next defensive event! https://www.spitfi****mstraining.com/service-page/ladies-defensive-handgun-2-5-vital-skill?referral=service_list_widget
