🦖 Did you know the first dinosaur to be scientifically described and named was Megalosaurus, discovered in England and formally named by William Buckland in 1824?

Well, our 4th–7th graders do!

They have started an in-depth unit on dinosaurs, and today they took what they’ve been learning and shared it with our K–2 students. They created Megalosaurus puzzles for the younger students to put together and learn from.

We love seeing our students learn something deeply and then turn around and share that knowledge with others! 🦖

🍎 Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today we’re celebrating the incredible teachers who pour so much into our students every single day. 💙

At Ridge Academy, our teachers love God, love kids, and love what they teach.

But their impact goes far beyond lessons and textbooks. They model kindness, curiosity, integrity, perseverance, grace, and what it looks like to follow Jesus in the everyday moments.

Because our teachers don’t just teach the curriculum.

They are the living curriculum our students see every day.

Teachers truly are heroes, and today we’re especially grateful for ours. 💙

📸 Tomorrow is Picture Day!

Time to pick out the outfit, practice those smiles, and cross our fingers that everyone stays picture-ready until the camera comes out. 😂

Our photographer will be at Ridge Academy tomorrow to take individual student pictures and a class picture.

No need to order individual photos ahead of time! Order links will be sent out after Picture Day, so families will have the opportunity to view the pictures and order their favorites then.

Dirt Day = hands-on science! 🪱

Today, our students got up close and personal with some of Mrs. Sue’s worms.

They learned:
🪱 How to tell the head from the other end
🔦 How to see inside a worm (yes, with a flashlight!)
What those bands on a worm mean
How worms breathe — through their skin!

The students had the opportunity to handle the worms, observe them closely, and take part in hands-on experiences.

We think Mrs. Sue’s worms may need a little extra time in the dirt tonight to recover from their day at school! 😂🪱

We love giving our students opportunities to learn by seeing, touching, asking questions, and figuring things out for themselves.

💙 A Little Thank You Goes a Long Way

Our students put their creativity and gratitude to work by making handmade thank-you cards for the North Fayette Township Police Department. Yesterday, the cards were delivered along with some pastries because saying “thank you” is even better with a sweet treat. 😊

Take a look at these cards! We love seeing our students learn that gratitude isn’t just something we feel. It’s something we can show.

Today was GRAND! 💙

Our Grandparents Brunch was filled with good food, lots of laughter, sweet moments, and some very proud grandkids!

Our grandparents also had the opportunity to hear more about the mission and vision of Ridge Academy and the heart behind what we’re building for our students and families.

And of course, “Kids Say the Grandest Things” might have stolen the show. 😂 Our students had plenty to say about the people they love so much!

Thank you to every grandparent and special guest who joined us today. We’re grateful for the generations of love, faith, wisdom, and encouragement surrounding our students.

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that prayer belongs at the center of it all. 💙🙏

Our Ridge Academy students gathered together for See You at the Pole, joining students across the country in prayer for their school, families, friends, community, and nation.

There’s something powerful about watching young hearts learn that they can bring everything to God and that their prayers matter.

We’re grateful for moments like these, when faith moves beyond a lesson and becomes something our students live out together.
