Can you stack rounds at 5 yards, 10 yards, how about 15? Make the most out of every trip to the range with the focus drill. With only a handful of rounds, get an idea of what you can and can't hit at different distances. Find your limits and understand your accuracy. Never forget the fundamentals!

For good reason, the hard sight focus is the most common handgun aiming technique used for accurate shooting, but there are other options that may be a better choice in certain situations or distance to the target. There is also one for aging eyes that works best with a red dot and iron sights.

People who wear progressive (not transition. I'm a dummy) lenses, bifocal and/or trifocal lenses often struggle with finding and maintaining the correct location on the lens to look through while shooting a handgun. This is magnified if the shooter is firing in a poor or awkward shooting position where recoil is moving more than just the handgun itself. A soft sight focus technique that is very similar in function to how we use red dots, can help mitigate this problem for those shooters with aging eyes.

Daniel Shaw goes over rifle magazine and pouches carrying options answering questions like, what's the best location for magazine pouches, what direction should the mags face and how should you retrieve the mags to be fast and efficient when reloading? There may not be one length of pull setting for all applications that solves all stock related problems, so it is perfectly fine to be fluid with your stock length. Just because you like your stock short while standing or in some applications, doesn't mean that is where it should be for all positions and firing techniques. Increasing your length of pull can add more leverage and strength to your shooting position and all you to shoot faster with more consistent precision with less effort.

Give it a try and let us know what you think. As always, buy all your magazines at Gunmag Warehouse.

We've all been there when shooting an AR or other rifle with a pistol grip for the first time. At least one point in your life, you've probably done "the chicken wing" and we don't blame you. Daniel Shaw explains why it makes sense to have your rear elbow in the correct position to help you shoot faster, mitigate recoil and increase consistency while reducing fatigue.

Daniel Shaw explains what he trains and teaches for the mindset of a post-engagement scan (search and assess) and where priorities should be immediately following a use of force incident. You scan left, you look right, but what did you look at and what did you see? Did you receive and process information or did you train to look at nothing? The idea here is to train mindset rather than a head movement that itself doesn't require any practice. You are already good at looking around, let's work on thinking.

Daniel Shaw explains how to handle that dreaded "click!" with a handgun. Do you know what to do when your handgun stops working? Could be a bad magazine, stuck follower, magazine not seated, bad ammo, issue with the gun itself or a combination of things. In any case, here's how to clear that failure to fire with the classic tap, rack, bang/reassess.

Wanna call your magazine a clip? Go for it! Daniel Shaw explains why dogpiling the unknowing gets us nowhere and can even set us and 2A advocacy back. Let's stop eating our own and begin gently educating with the deliberate intent of transferring knowledge rather than feeding our egos.
