"Should I be doing UWorld timed or untimed?" 🤔

It’s a common question we get, and the answer is: It depends on where you are in your journey. If you start timed practice too early, you’ll end up guessing on things you simply haven't learned yet. If you stay untimed too long, you’ll get a "false sense of security" that disappears the second the 95-minute section timer starts ticking on test day. ⏱️

What makes a strong future physician? It starts from within.

Future medical students are self-aware.
They ask for feedback, even when it’s uncomfortable.
They reflect on what they could do better.
They challenge their own thinking.

Humility isn’t something you either “have” or “don’t have.”
Teamwork isn’t automatic.
Emotional intelligence isn’t fixed.

These are skills, and you can start building them now.

As you work toward medical school, don’t just focus on grades and exams. Take time to reflect on how you grow, how you handle challenges, and how you show up for others.

That’s what will set you apart and carry you forward. 💙

"I understood the passage, but the questions made no sense."

If you’ve said this after a CARS session, you’re likely reading the passage at face value and not for the author's intent.

For CARS it doesn't matter if you know the history of 18th-century architecture, the MCAT wants to see if you can identify why the author thinks it’s important. The MCAT isn't testing your knowledge; it's testing your ability to filter through the "noise" to find the author's intent.

The "secret sauce" of high scorers? Learning to eliminate wrong answers.

Most students lose time because they try to "prove" why an answer is right. High scorers do the opposite: they look for any tiny reason to disprove an answer. Once you eliminate the impossible, what remains has to be true.
