Asia Village is now open! I can’t believe I actually stood in line for an hour on opening day of the soft opening! So worth it and so good! I was surprised how cheap everything is, compared to all the other bakeries around the Twin Cities. The average pastry was under $3.

I first had 85° when I was studying abroad in Australia—the first time I was on my own in the real world. The first time I got a taste of how big the world is and how little SmallTown, Wisconsin is. 85° for me tastes of freedom, excitement and loneliness all at once. And suddenly young me standing in front of the Sydney Opera House and walking around Darling Harbour again.

I apologize in advance if your child comes home asking for a trip somewhere on the other side of the world!

📣✨ Heritage Hmong Preschool is OFFICIALLY licensed by the state of Minnesota and ready to open our doors! 📣✨

We’ll welcome preschool students and school-age students for their first day of the Hmong Summer Program on June 15, 2026.

It’s been a long road, and honestly, the emotions are running high today. Taking this leap wasn't easy, but I’m so glad I bet on myself. Huge thank you to everyone who has been in our corner cheering us on—we couldn't have done this without you!

It’s dance recital weekend for us! We stopped by the Hmong Arts and Craft Fair to say hi to friends. The amazing thing about small businesses is their willingness to accommodate your needs. wildflowercollc didn’t hesitate to make us this adorable bouquet. I’ve been generically planning for years. But now we’ve got real students and i know what their interests are. We’re going to pivot and do a dinosaur week! I’m so excited. I didn’t realize how much I missed teaching!

This is our first spring here and we’re slowly discovering all the outdoor beauties. I’ve always wanted one of these trees!

The other day I came into the house and my husband asked why I was sad. lol well because I walked all around our yard and still can’t find a good spot to plant one of these trees. For the seventh year! 😆
