Quick summery of December School Board Meeting

Appointment of New Superintendent:
On December 21, 2025, just days after the mid-December board activities, the Board officially appointed Jason Black as the Superintendent of Schools. Black had previously served as the Interim Superintendent since July 2025.

Approval of 2026-2027 Calendar:
During the December sessions, the board approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.

District Recognitions: The board recognized several individuals and achievements, including:

Coach Buck James for his induction into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Champion Student of the Month awards and the CLE Garden of the Year.

The Conway High School Speech & Debate Team for their performance at the Isidore Newman tournament, where Newton Nganga placed 3rd in Lincoln-Douglas debate and Wren Welky earned a bid for the Tournament of Champions.

Community Initiatives:
The district highlighted the launch of the Wampus Cat Pantry, a new initiative designed to support local families in need.
