Wow! Maybe we can perform these "new" Mozart flute and harp pieces for the next UCA Mozart Symposium! (Narrowly missed awareness of their existence at our January 2026 symposium...)

The music notebook, found in the archives, dates from the composer's final stay in Paris, in 1778. The seven short pieces for flute and harp it contains will be broadcast for the first time ever on June 22 on France Musique radio.

Dr. Thorburn's private students gave a wonderful summer kickoff recital yesterday. Awesome solo and ensemble performances, and the Hot Springs Flute Ensemble's two pieces added a unique highlight too! 🎶🪉🪈 Everyone enjoyed a reception afterwards--photos included of harp cookies and what can be made with extra royal frosting. 😉

It may be summer break for the college students, but Dr. Thorburn's community harp students are still at it. 🎶🎶🎶

And the spring semester is a wrap after two beautiful harp jury performances today by Hunter and Carson! Congratulations to Carson, too, who graduates with a degree in computer science on Friday. 👏🎶💜

Thanks to our *six* intrepid performers (+ Dr. Thorburn) for a beautiful harp studio recital this afternoon! We enjoyed musical selections from around the world 🎶🌎 ... and eighth note cupcakes afterward!

We are excited to present a studio recital with *seven* harpists performing this Sunday! 3pm in Snow recital hall.

Each performer has at least one piece referencing a different world music style and/or composer. Come hear the variety of musical styles and see the different types of harps (pedals, levers, and a special guest folk harp). 😊🎶

We enjoyed a harp-and-flute centered X-Period today at ! Dittersdorf Concerto with the talented Lydia Howard and Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto with Dr. Graham and Dr. Thorburn, all beautifully accompanied by Dr. Boehm. 🎶💜
