📱 R.I.S.E. Program Continues!

This week, Officer Taylor and Officer Jones continued the R.I.S.E. curriculum with students at both the high school and elementary school, focusing on Social Media & Internet Safety.

Students discussed digital footprints, online privacy, recognizing red flags, responsible posting, and how something that seems like “just a post” or “just a message” can have real-world consequences.

R.I.S.E. is all about giving students practical knowledge they can use in the real world. Whether they’re just getting started online or preparing for life beyond high school.

🚨 Think R.I.S.E. is just for high school? Think again! 🚨

Officer Jones is bringing R.I.S.E. to our Mount Vernon-Enola 6th graders!

This week, students tackled bullying and cyberbullying, including recognizing the difference between conflict and bullying, understanding the impact our words can have, and learning what to do when things cross the line.

And this is just the beginning! Future R.I.S.E. lessons will cover:

🚨 R.I.S.E. — Week One is officially underway! 🚨

Today, Officer Taylor had the opportunity to kick off R.I.S.E. — Respect • Integrity • Safety • Education with our 9th grade students at Mount Vernon-Enola School District.

R.I.S.E. is a 10-week, SRO-led program designed to give students real-world skills for real-world situations.

As students get older, the decisions they make begin carrying bigger consequences. R.I.S.E. is designed to help students recognize those decisions, understand the pressures they may face, and develop the confidence and knowledge to make good choices, even when doing the right thing isn’t necessarily the easy thing.

For our first lesson, students tackled Accountability, Reputation & Real-Life Consequences. We talked about how one decision can create personal, social, school, and sometimes legal consequences, and how the reputation you build today can follow you into tomorrow.

The first R.I.S.E. lesson also gave Officer Taylor the opportunity to work alongside Deputy Hawkins, a patrol deputy trainee who assisted with teaching the class. Having multiple law enforcement perspectives in the classroom gave students the opportunity to hear firsthand how everyday choices can have real-world outcomes.

And we’re just getting started. Over the next several weeks, R.I.S.E. will cover topics including:

The goal is to have honest conversations about the choices students are actually facing, give them practical information, and help them understand the “why” behind responsible decision-making.

A special thank-you to Mount Vernon-Enola School Administration and teachers for supporting R.I.S.E. and allowing this program to become part of the educational experience for our students. Programs like this are possible when schools and law enforcement work together to educate, support, and prepare students before they find themselves facing difficult situations.

🐸 TOAD TAKEOVER AT THE SCHOOLS 🐸

We’ve got a situation… and it’s completely out of control.

Toads. Everywhere.

This week, Deputy Fornash, Deputy Brock, and Deputy Dalton participated in toad races at their schools! Students competed for a chance to advance to the finals at Toad Suck Daze this weekend.

One deputy became part of the event when a determined little racer decided the best view in the house was from the top, settling in like it had found its new command post. 🐸👮‍♂️

We are proud of all our student competitors and wish our finalists the best of luck this weekend in the Toad Dome!
